I love my pancakes & waffles as much as the next person but let me say I don't suggest ever going to this ihop. The customer service(when they pay attention to you) is nice for the most part but it feels like they're going through the motions. I've seen a server ignore a table because the five people asked for different drinks & it took them 20 minutes to get them. I've had food come out still frozen before (I usually get the appetizer which is mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders & onion rings). My server one time didn't bring mine with onion rings, or any of the sauces I asked for then told me that's how it comes....Never will go there again even if I don't have to pay for it.

This restaurant is a franchise but, there server "Deborah" is HORRIBLE !!!! She came over to our table with an attitude and demanded we look at her when we were ordering. REALLY!! I dismissed her with the quickness. Got a new server and everything was copacetic. The T-bone steak is the the truth!!

Very mixed opinions. The staff here is ok. Some of the servers are much better than others but for some reason it seems that attention such as refills or taking orders comes in spirts. The food is ok, like all ihops, and the breakfast variety is actually pretty good but honestly the customer service at this location seems forced. I know of two other ihops in the area and both have a more relaxed natural customer service feel. The people at those locations seem genuinely happy to be there this one doesn't have that feel to it

Very long wait. Cold food. Had to remind the server about my pancakes. Had to wait a long time to pay.

Mixed feelings about this place. Sometimes you get excellent service and great food, and others you get extremely horrible service and ok food. IHOP generally has great food, still not sure about this location.

All Ihops are the same and what I go there for is pancakes, pancakes, pancakes! Stick to what they are known for and you will not go wrong. I always ask for my as soon as they get off the grill with extra butter and hot syrup. I rarely get anything other than pancakes. Go early for the best service.

My waitress was awesome. One of the friendliest waitresses I've ever had but the restaurant smelled horribly bad. It stunk of mildew. When I got seated I saw that one of the walls was covered in black mold. Above me was a lose ceiling tile with a towel in it that also was spotted with black mold. Needless to say I did not eat at ihop that day I finished my coffee and left.

My kids both love IHOP, however it's not usually my first choice due to service being a hit and miss. The food can also be spotty too, this chain can really vary on both. When out of town for one of my son's swim meets this often is our first choice because I know he will eat well. This IHOP has a Newport Address and is within just miles of the gate of Ft. Eustis where my son swam this meet. I would call this place off the beaten path, but easy to find off the main road of Warwick. I hit this IHOP up after the conclusion of a swim final. It was around 9 PM and pretty dead. We were seated immediately and had a party of four, three were children. With everyone so hungry we told the waitress that we wanted to order when coming to ask for drinks. The waitress was very nice, especially to the children. I did not notice one table that was not cleared and the floors were free from debris. I felt confident that this IHOP was being managed well based on what I saw. Drinks quickly came out and our waitress informed us the food was being rushed out of the kitchen. Under 15 minutes our food was out, it was hot and the kids loved there pancakes. I too enjoyed my dish as well as my other adult friend. A quick follow up by our waitress was done and appreciated. The bill came out quickly on request and was accurate. Our waitress asked if we needed to any to go boxes, or coffee to go which was appreciated. I was impressed with the service and thought the food was above average. This was a solid visit, however sometimes you never know what the difference would be if a place was busy and even slammed. Since this is my only visit at this location I am purely judging them on what I experienced. I would return upon visiting the area.

IHOP is IHOP, but this one really sucks. For my money, it's worth the drive over to York County to go to a new, cleaner location with better service. They used to run a "kids eat for free" special after 5pm on weekdays, which was really the only reason we put up with this stink hole. Of course the cashier always "forgot" to take the kids' meal off the bill. Then on two separate occasions we showed up to find out this "24/7" store was closed. We arrived around 8 - 8:30 pm both times. The first time there was a note scribbled in crayon (yes, crayon! LOL) on the door that said they were closed until the morning. The second time they were cleaning the fryers. What restaurant has to close to clean their fryers? Who chooses to shut their kitchen down so early in the evening? Pretty lame.

For lunch today, I thought it was only fitting that after the completion of the World Cup that I keep up the international camaraderie and general hype. IHOP, like the World Cup, is truly something that brings together people from all walks of life. Whether you're on a business trip trying to find an all night establishment to meet your escort, or a bum looking for a bathroom to sleep in for a couple hours, there's IHOP. The friendly and courteous staff of chain smokers and recently released convicts are there to make your dining experience tolerable. I'm glad that I skipped breakfast, because I definitely needed that extra room. But no worries, it will have completely evacuated by the time dinner comes around. Bon appétit. Also, if you get "Gunny" as your waiter, ask him about the "Ambush" game -- you will not be disappointed.

I just sat there for over 20 mins and with hardly no customers. Sad to say I never received my food and ended up leaving. If I can give them a negative I definately would. Worst service ever.

Food taste ok. But pricy. $25 for 1 adult and two kids is kinda steep for the little bit of food we ordered. Waiter didn't write our order down, and has to come back to verify. Then still got the order wrong. The hostess ran out and only has one crayon coloring kids menu, and gave it to one kid. Big fight now between them over whom should be coloring. The manager ended up bailing out the service, which, after him rolling his eyes at me for asking for a missing set of utensils, caused me to realize the whole staff there is lacking. I'll pass on this place and go to the McDonald's down the street.

The addition of this IHOP was one of the best things to happen to my old neighborhood. Always clean. Always friendly service.
